This painting was created as part of a plein air study in Barry island. I was unfortunately subdued in my efforts by a blustery sandstorm. However I managed to persist and finish the piece. 
I’ve found that the sand that littered the board as I painted it added a great deal of texture to the painting, so I have found a lucky win from struggling through a sandstorm.
This piece is painted utilising a beautiful Prussian blue pigment, which gives the painting a real sense of a late winter day.
