An original Gouache on board depicting Glendalaugh, Wicklow.
The inspiration from this painting, came from the desire to paint someplace new.
I've always loved Ireland, with all its beautifully green landscapes, and ridiculously friendly people. So I elected to take a random landmark of Ireland, and paint it.
Knowing the rich culture, and how Ireland seems to sew knots into almost all of its classical art, I looked to embued this sense of knotwork into my painting.
Utilising waving lines, with broad colours, to really instill as much of Ireland as I could.
